When choosing the venue for the conference, it was crucial to find a well-equipped and modern location that would provide the best possible environment for our lectures and programmes. This led us to select the Ráday house as the main venue of ESAS, which was fully renovated in 2024. The building has previously hosted international conferences, ensuring the success of the ESAS 2026 event!
The building houses many activities: we can find here the Ráday collection which consists of a library and archive, together with the Bibel Museum, college, and an offsite university campus.

To this day, the Faculty remains the largest institution in the country where each of the natural sciences is represented at the highest level. Over the centuries, its educational programs have nurtured or employed many globally recognized scientists. The Lágymányos Building of the Eötvös Lóránd University will be hosting several of the programme elements of the ESAS 2026 conference, including the welcome party at the Historical Mineral Hall of the Eötvös Museum of Natural History and the short courses.
Sunday Short Courses will take place at Eötös Loránd University (ELTE), Hungary’s oldest continuously operating university. It was established in 1635, in Nagyszombat, named Universitas Istropolitana. In 1777, the institution moved to Budapest. ELTE has a significant role in Hungary’s scientific life and it has been involved in natural sciences from the beginning.
The core Conference programme will take place at Ráday House Conference Centre. The main buildings of the Ráday House are located next to each other between Ráday street and Markusovszky squire. The entrance of the Conference Centre opens from Ráday street 28, as you see on the picture below.
